About New Wave Surf School
New Wave was set up in 2008 by Donald Peace.
Donald is an avid surfer and when he's not teaching others to surf, he's surfing himself! His love of surfing began one afternoon when he was supposed to be going for a Skate with some friends, but instead of the Skatepark, they headed to the beach for a surf. Even though Donald couldn't swim, or even float well at the time, he jumped in at the deep end and caught his first wave. From then on, Donald realised that surfing was what he was meant to do. He learnt to swim at the local leisure centre, gave up his nicely paid job, and with the help of Outf!t Moray he travelled to Newquay and achieved his British Surfing Association qualification and Beach Lifeguard qualification. Then he was helped further by the Princes Trust and HIE Moray, and with the money they loaned him, he bought all the gear he would need, and started up his own surf school based in Morayshire. Phew! Take a breath!
Since then, Donald has been helping people from all over Britain to feel the same magic as he did, the magic of CATCHING A WAVE!
Although Donald is busy for most of the day with teaching surfing, improving his own level of surfing, being a husband and a jolly good Dad, he still finds time to help out with local charity Outf!t Moray, and numerous other projects that he is passionate about.
Donald is a founding member of the musical group Wave and I, who will be airing their music soon! You can expect a vibe from the music that you get from Donald himself - nice and mellow with an orange surfy twist!
