About new wave surf schoolNew Wave was set up in 2007 by Donald Peace.
Donald is an avid surfer and when he's not teaching others to surf, he's surfing himself! His love of surfing began one afternoon when he was supposed to be going for a Skate with some friends, but instead of the Skatepark, they headed to the beach for a surf. Even though Donald couldn't swim, or even float well at the time, he jumped in at the deep end and caught his first wave. From that point on, Donald realised that surfing was what he was meant to do. He learnt to swim at the local leisure centre, gave up his nicely paid job, and then he travelled to Cornwall and achieved his Surfing Instructor qualification and Beach Lifeguard qualification. He then started up his own surf school based in Morayshire. Since then, Donald has been helping people from all over Britain to feel the same magic as he did - the magic of CATCHING A WAVE! |
New Wave Surf School Support Team
Andy Jones: Surf CoachYou may recognise Andy from the bike shop Cycle Circle in Elgin. Andy has come on 'board' to help Donald teach Surfing, and to bring some extra good vibes to the Surf School. We're stoked to have him joining us! When Andy isn't working with Donald, he's out surfing, biking or hanging out with his family.

Hayden Peace: Assistant Surf & Sup CoachHayden is Donald's eldest Son, who was practically raised at the beach! He is now a city boy, studying Events Management in Glasgow, but he comes back home to Lossie to help out with Surf and Sup lessons over the Summer Holidays. When he's not studying or working, he's usually to be found on a stage somewhere, playing guitar with his band 'The Zebecks'.

Oli Peace: Young Leader & Surf Hut CrewOli is Donald's youngest Son. He helps out with lessons and hiring gear, and is on the Surf Hut Crew. He is Home Educated, and so once his school work is done, he gets to spend lots of time at the beach, surfing, stand up paddleboarding, dooking, and generally just living a life of adventure and fun.
|
Malu Peace: Young Leader & Surf Hut CrewMalu is Donald's Daughter. She helps out with lessons (and especially enjoys working with little kids), and is also on the Surf Hut Crew. She is Home Educated, and has a passion for all things nature related. When she has finished school work, she is usually traipsing through forests looking for mushrooms and mosses, creating spectacular pieces of art, studying different bird species, or jumping in the sea for a surf.
|
Kerry Peace: Food maker & AdminKerry is Donald's Wife. She helps out with the admin for the surf school, as well as making sure there is always plenty of food available for hard working New Wave Staff. When she's not Home Educating her kids, Kerry likes to take part in creative projects, run mindfulness and meditation sessions, and also spend time in her veggie garden.
